At this point, I’m as tired of the Cristiano Ronaldo saga as you are – though the constant photos of his girlfriend while on holiday can keep coming – but Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson certainly doesn’t sound stressed that his superstar could be leaving this summer.
It’s going to be a big season, but we have a good team and there is still some development to come in the squad. We have some young players who did very well for periods last season, but at times they showed their youthfulness by being inconsistent. Those young players will come on a bundle now, though, and winning the European Cup and the league can only help us. The likes of Anderson, Nani, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo will emerge from that, without doubt, and be really top players for us.
While SAF won’t answer questions directly about Ronaldo, the fact that he’s including him in discussions makes me think that he believes he’ll be around.
